"I try to put people in my shoes and imagine what is was like to also be there."

Xhosa has been connected to the Bushwick Community Darkroom for about a year. He lives in Bushwick and when he began shooting film, he took her very first New York roll to BCD and have been using our services since to develop and scan his rolls.

Xhosa says, “The current events have definitely affected my photography. Recently, I've been creating a lot from emotion and using everything going on, not only social injustices but the pandemic and other world issues to fuel my work. Creating this way allows me to quickly find inspo and work without too much thinking and more doing.”
