1. Whats your favorite camera & why? 

 my favorite camera is the first film camera i ever bought.  The Minolta SRT-101.  I bought it from this nice old lady off of craigslist who old me she bought the camera in 1965 .  She made me promise to take it on as many adventures as possible.  The camera is 100% manual, which makes setting up shots a little tough on the street, but there is no substitute for total control.

2. What type of photographer would you describe yourself as/how would you describe your photographic style?

it's hard to describe my style as it is constantly evolving, i don't even know what the end point is.  for now i'd say im shooting for something that could be called "psychedelic street photography".  i like capturing strangers but im going for something more, im still not sure yet.  this is a hard question

3. Whats your dream photo shoot?

open ended, no time limits cross country american road trip.  i know this doesn't count as a single shoot, but im a big fan of Stephen Shore and Tag Christoff; this is something i've always wanted to do.  in terms of a single day shoot, i'd like to follow some illegal building scrappers in Detroit for a night.  Empty warehouses always get me going.

4. Whats the longest you've spent on a project/most in depth you've gone?

I've haven't ever shot with much of a project in mind.  I just bring my camera and shoot what I find interesting.  I guess the only project I've ever done is taking pictures of this guy who stands outside his Delorean on my block every night.  His name is Dennis and I took pictures of him outside his car in times square every day for about 3 months.  I was planning on doing it as long as possible, but eventually he just stopped showing up!  Still don't know what happened to him.

5. How long have you lived in Bushwick/Brooklyn/New York?

I moved to harlem from alabama 2 years ago for podiatry school.  I don't think my film obsession would have gone so far had I moved anywhere else, I really appreciate BCD for offering me unique opportunities to experiment in my photography.
