Feature of the Week: Dane Manary

Dane Manary is a documentary photographer based in Bushwick. He has recently made self published photo books, Liar's Paradox (2018) and Telepathy (2019).

“This year has been upending for me, and photography has genuinely helped me through it. Before this year I would typically keep my camera on me at all times, but only shoot a roll of film every couple of weeks. This year I have been shooting dozens of rolls, more than ever before, and it feels really amazing.”

BCD: How does photography aid with your message?  

DM: I take the time to seek out moments that appear happenstance and magical, to convey that everyone's world is complex, enthralling, and miraculous.
