Open Call: “Chemical Imbalance” @ Superfair! DC (Nov 2025)
We’re thrilled to announce our next community group exhibition: Chemical Imbalance, opening at Superfine! DC, October 24–26 November 7-9, 2025 and later at the Bushwick Community Darkroom.
This show is about unrest — the fractures, the unease, the unstable moments that refuse to smooth themselves out. Think about imbalance in the world around you and in the quiet corners of your own life: the way power tilts, the way bodies ache, the way climate and community shift under pressure.
We’re seeking analog photographic work that pulses with urgency, risk, and rawness. Show us tension. Show us resistance. Show us what doesn’t sit right. This could be a protest in the streets, a storm on the horizon, a portrait that reveals more than it conceals, or a still life where something just feels off.
This exhibition will be presented salon-style: walls filled with framed, ready-to-hang photographs that collectors can take home straight from the gallery. No frames larger than 11×14. If you frame it yourself, go with what feels right for your image — variety is part of the point.

Fees & Participation
Submission Fee: $15 (waived for BCD/UFLN members)
Exhibition Fee (if selected): $275 non-members / $220 members
Print & Frame Options: $50 (mat & frame your print) / $75 (we print + mat + frame your file)
Commission: Self/BCD framed works → you set the price, BCD adds 30%.
Full-service print & frame → retail $250, proceeds split 60/40.
