Shifting light can illuminate beauty in mundane parts of our lives, surprising us if we are patient and receptive to it. I prefer to capture moments such as these and manipulate the images as little as possible to create as direct a line from my eye to that of the viewer. Hopefully they will be moved and see similar moments in their own lives. We all struggle with the impulse to bend the world to satisfy our desires but I am exhausted by living under the shadow of grandiosity and violence of a small but powerful group of lost souls that move fast and break things while avoiding deeper truths and destroying fragile communities. Instead I want to live in a world where we all have time and peace of mind to pay attention to the quiet details and wonderful ambiguity of the world that is hiding in plain sight.
